Pediatric dentistry plays an important role in the overall oral health and hygiene of a child. Pediatric dentists facilitate education of dental health, monitor growth, and establish prevention and intervention methods throughout the stages of a child's development. One of the most important components of pediatric dentistry  is child psychology and pediatric dentists are trained to create a fun and friendly atmosphere for visiting children to convey this message. We welcome children as early as possible to their "dental home"  for a life long of happy dental experience.

Education :

Here in our office we use models, computer technology and pleasant terminology to help educating good oral habits, and eliminating dental phobias .  Also school  presentations locally have helped us raise awareness about oral health                   among school aged children.

Home care modalities, proper diet, Periodic check-ups and cleanings are essential part of standard prevention regimen. Also placing dental sealants and applying topical fluoride  help in raising a cavity free child.

Fluoride varnish is the most recent fluoride introduced in the U.S. Varnishes have advantage over gels, foams, rinses and pastes because of their ability to retain on the tooth surface for hours. We choose to use it because it is safe, easy and evidence-based preventive treatment. Children can eat and drink right after, it is tooth colored and last not least of all it has a good taste.

At complete dental care we recommend permanent molars be sealed as soon as they emerge and we check integrity of the seal at every 6 months recare appointment.

In some cases Dr. Zahedi may discuss possibility of  early intervention such as breaking harmful habits or growth  modification. Unlocking the bite in case of a dental cross-bite allows natural development of the jaw. These modalities can help a child reach optimum growth potential, preserves the child’s self-esteem and fosters a more positive self-image.

Other forms of treatment that may be performed by Dr Zahedi are as follow:
