Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Zahedi has been in a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida since 1995. She is a board certified pediatric dentist and a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. After completing dental school, Dr. Zahedi completed specialized training in the recognition and treatment of dental diseases of children. She is very patient and takes time to make your child comfortable in an unfamiliar environment. The friendly atmosphere of the office, with life-size drawings of cartoon animals and a friendly office staff, will help your child feel at home.
She welcomes your children as young as age one for their first dental visit. Establishing early dental care follows the recommendation of American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry for the prevention of many childhood oral diseases.
How to Prepare for the First Visit?
Your child should visit the dentist by his or her 1st birthday. You can make the first visit to the dentist positive and enjoyable. One way to convey good feelings to your child is to remind them that going to the dentist is a sign that they are growing up.
Please do not tell your child that the dentist will not hurt; as this may never have entered your child's mind. Instead, you can assure them that the doctor will be friendly and gentle. Expect your child to react well and enjoy the first visit and chances are he or she will do exactly that.
The First Visit
You may accompany your child to the treatment area during initial exam. We ask, however, that you remain a silent partner so we can have your child's full attention.
Dr. Zahedi will perform a head and neck examination and then evaluate the health of the teeth, gums, and the child's jawbone. Dental X-rays are taken only if she feels they are necessary. Then, she discusses the findings with you, and addresses your questions and concerns.
If your child needs further treatment, our front office secretaries will assist you to schedule next visit and answer any financial and insurance questions you may have.
